Direct answer

Use the game's recommended TSR, DLSS, or FSR baseline first. Then test Environment Geometry Detail off as a reversible community workaround, because multiple players reported large gains; some also reported lighting artifacts. Update drivers, close background apps, and compare one change at a time.

Safe first steps

Do these in order

  1. 01

Record a baseline in the same scene, resolution, preset, and camera position.

  2. 02

Use the recommended TSR/DLSS/FSR option for the official 1440p/60 target.

  3. 03

Temporarily switch Environment Geometry Detail off and compare FPS plus lighting quality.

  4. 04

Update the GPU driver and close nonessential background applications.

  5. 05

Keep only changes that improve frame time without unacceptable visual regressions.

Why resolution changes may not solve it

EA says the game was found to be more CPU-bound and that individual graphics settings may not change frame rate like they do in other genres. That aligns with player reports of similar performance across wide resolution changes, but the official CPU-bound note is the stronger evidence.

Environment Geometry Detail test

This is a community-reported workaround, not an EA fix. Several players reported gains after turning the setting off. At least one Steam review warned that it can reduce lighting quality or create artifacts. Treat it as an A/B test and reverse it if the image becomes unstable.

Intel Arc note

EA specifically advises Intel Arc users to enable Resizable BAR for better FPS. Follow the motherboard or system manufacturer's documentation; do not guess at firmware settings.

Stutter and screen tearing

Change display mode, frame cap, and VSync one at a time so you can reverse the change. Launch reports say tearing can persist even with VSync enabled, so this site does not claim a confirmed fix. Report persistent behavior with display mode, refresh rate, GPU, driver, and a short clip.
